Review | Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub

It is that time of the year again when my lips start to get really dry, and if I am not careful they also start to crack. My Nuxe Rêve De Miel Lip Balm takes care of the moisturising but I needed a product to take off any dry skin that appeared. That’s where the Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub comes in. With a blend of Sugar Crystals, Vanilla Extract, Peppermint Oil, Jojoba Oil and Tagetes Oil this lip scrub will not only rid the lips of dry skin but it will also help to moisturise them. It smells like mint choc chip ice cream and tastes pretty good too – if you can forget that you are also licking off the dry skin (eww). As you can see from the photo below the oils bind the sugar crystals together, so the scrub isn’t too crumbly and it is easy to use.

How I use this is by taking a small amount on my middle finger and gently rubbing it over my lips in circular motions, being sure to focus on any areas that are particularly dry – be careful not to scrub too hard or you will end up with very sore and sensitive lips. I use this about 2 – 3 times a week, any more than that is too much for me.

I know you can make a simple sugar scrub at home, probably for less that it costs to purchase this product, however I like the convenience of a pre made lip scrub and I like that it has a minty taste to it. This has definitely become an essential product for me and I can’t see myself running out anytime soon due to the huge amount you get in the jar, which is brilliant.

If you are not a fan of mint lip products then the Lush lip scrub is also available in Bubblegum and Popcorn flavour. They have also brought out a limited edition Christmas lip scrub called Santa’s Lip Scrub which I am considering purchasing pretty soon.

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub retails for £5.50 and is available here.
