If I wasn’t aiming to try and review all of the Lush Christmas bath products before Christmas I probably wouldn’t have purchased this bath bomb. I liked the look of The Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar when I went to the Lush blogger event but I was not overly fussed on the smell. Whilst writing this post I was researching what ingredients went into the bubble bar and I was surprised to find out that it contains Rose Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil and Sweet Orange Oil, which are three scents I love so I am not sure why I don’t like the smell. Holding The Christmas Hedgehog in my hand reminded me of the texture of a bath melt as opposed to a bubble bar, it felt like it was melting in my hand. This is due to the moisturising Organic Shea Butter they add into the bar to help soften the skin and leave it feeling lovely and smooth.
Once it is crumbled into the bath it acts like a regular bubble bar in that it creates lots of bubbles and adds a soft hint of colour to the bath, in this case blue. Though once I was in the bath I still didn’t like the scent. I still couldn’t smell the rose, ylang, ylang or orange which was disappointing. I didn’t find it overly moisturising either. Not like Butter Bear or Snow Angel which left my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
Overall I am quite disappointed by this product. I love the design of The Christmas Hedgehog, but it didn’t perform as well as I would have liked it to.
Lush The Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar retails for £3.25 and is available here.
