Wish List #3 | January 2015

Jan 15 Wish List

I thought I would make my first post of 2015 my January Wish List. A couple of the products on the list are new releases and the rest are either products I have been eyeing up for a while or they are products I have seen in some bloggers/vloggers favourite products of 2014 lists.

1. Real Techniques 300 Tapered Brush

Real Techniques have quickly become one of my favourite brush brands. The brushes are excellent quality and retail at an affordable price – they even rival my MAC brushes. So when news hit that they would be releasing a new line of brushes, aimed more at the professional, I was very keen to see what they had developed. I must admit I was a little shocked when I saw the price of the new brushes, but when I watched Sam and Nic’s video that introduced the brushes I understood why they were more expensive. I have already placed an order for the 301 Flat Contour Brush but I also like the look of the 300 Tapered Brush, I think it will be perfect for precise application of blush or highlighter. The Real Techniques 300 Tapered Brush retails for £24 and is available exclusively at Boots in the UK.

2. NARSissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette

When Christine from Temptalia posted a sneak peek of the NARSissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette I knew that I wanted it. I didn’t even need to see any swatches to know that it was going to be amazing. Then when her review post went up it confimed that as soon as it was available in the UK I would be buying it. I have not tried any of the Dual Intensity shadows but I have heard great reviews of them and as this palette contains eight shadows in this formula it is a great opportunity to try them out. It has already been released on narscosmetics.com but as yet I haven’t not heard a UK release date. The NARSissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette retails for $79 and is available here.

3. Burberry Pale Barley Sheer Eyeshadow

This eyeshadow is very popular in the blogging community. I have seen in it a few of my favourite beauty bloggers channels (Vivianna Does Makeup, Ghostparties and Amelia Liana) and I think it just looks like a me kind of colour. I love a good neutral shade that I can throw on easily in the morning when I am rushing out the door. It is described as a cool medium dark brown with a golden sheen running through, it reminds me a little of MAC Patina. Although £23 is a pretty hefty price tag for one eyeshadow I can kind of justify it – just about –  if I use it regularly enough. Burberry Pale Barley Sheer Eyeshadow retails for £23 and is available here.

4. Blank Canvas Cosmetics 6 Contour/Highlight Palette #1

I first heard about this contour kit when I was watching a tutorial from Sinéad of The Makeup Chair. Blank Canvas Cosmetics are an online based Irish beauty brand who aim to produce quality products at an affordable price. So far I have purchased one of their brushes and I must say I am very impressed and I am looking forward to trying more products from the company in the future. The Blank Canvas Cosmetics  6 Contour/Highlight Palette #1 retails for £11.64 and is available here.

5. Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads

After I have had any kind of blemish I end up with a red/dark spot that last longer than the actual blemish did. It really bothers me as my skin can be clear in terms of active blemishes but then still look uneven and spotty due to the scars that are left behind. In an attempt to combat this I use quite a few brightening or complexion correcting products to help even out my skin tone. I spotted these when I was browsing Beauty Bay and thought they looked like they might work at combatting this issue. The Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads retail for £24.95 and are available here.

6. Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac – Rose Gold

In my attempt to downsize my handbag I have been searching for one that can fit all my essentials (phone, keys, purse and a few bits of makeup) whilst still having room to hold an umbrella/camera/fiancé’s wallet if needed. In comes the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC. I have seen this numerous times in other bloggers videos and it is just what I am looking for. What’s more, it even comes in black with rose gold hard wear now! I know it is on the pricier side, but I am willing to pay a bit more for a staple item that I will use time and time again. The Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC – Rose Gold retails for $195 and is available here.

I am on a bit of a spending ban at the moment as I grabbed lots of bargains in the Christmas sales so I think it will be a while before I purchase any of these items, except possibly the NARS palette as it just so beautiful and I know it is going to sell out fast.

Are there any new releases you are looking forward to? Or are there any products you have heard bloggers/vloggers raving about that you want to get your hands on? Let me know in the comments below.

Wishing you all a brilliant 2015,

Vanessa
