Wish List #4 | February 2015

Feb 15 Wish List

Another month means another Wish List from me. I am currently supposed to be on a semi spending ban but I am having a real problem sticking to it – I just can’t help myself. Here are the items I am trying to hold back from purchasing at the moment.

1. Tarte Tartlette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

I need another eyeshadow palette like I need a whole in the head. Meaning I don’t. However, I think this is the type of palette I am missing in my collection. One that is full of beautiful matte shades that I can incorporate into any look, from simple to smoky and day to night. The shades look perfect, it has a good mix of warm, cool and neutral shades that would compliment any eye look you are going for. I also love how they have included some mauve/purple shades in there so you can add a subtle hint of colour to a neutral look. The Tarte Tartlet Amazonian Clay Matte Palette retails for $44.

2. Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pointed Crease

Since I very naughtily purchased the Real Techniques Bold Metals 301 Flat Contour I have been itching to try another brush from this new collection. The 201 Pointed Crease is the only other brush that I cannot somewhat dupe in my collection. I think it will be perfect for deepening my crease, as I have hooded eyes I find smaller brushes are better for me for this job. I also think it will do a great job of blending out colour under my eyes. This might accidentally slip into my basket when I am next shopping, I do have a lot of Boots points to use so I am technically not spending any money – right? The Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pointed Crease retails for £12.

3. Deep Steep Brown Sugar – Vanilla Bubble Bath

Doesn’t this just sound delicious! I am imaging it will create a really warming aroma when it is pour under running water. I know it is more on the expensive side for a bubble bath, but a girl has to have a luxury bath once in a while. The Deep Steep Brown Sugar Bubble Bath retails for £10.95 for 517ml.

4. The Glam Guide by Fleur De Force

I am really intrigued to read Fleur’s first book. It seems like she has put a lot of hard work and thought into writing it and I would love what tips and tricks she has included in each chapter. Her book covers everything from makeup to healthy lifestyle motivation. The Glam Guide by Fleur De Force will be released on 12th February and is currently retailing for £7.49 on Amazon.

5. Pretty Honest: The Straight Talking Beauty Companion by Sali Hughes

I have seen this book raved about by YouTubers and bloggers alike and it has also popped up on my Instagram feed many times too. Although I love makeup and I enjoy being creative with my looks, I do have a 9-5 job that is focussed on the people I am working with as opposed to how I look. So I find myself wearing pretty simple makeup on a day to day basis. It will be great to read Sali’s tips and advice for how real women can make the most of makeup. Pretty Honest: The Straight Talking Beauty Companion by Sali Hughes retails for £22 but is currently on sale for £10.04 on Amazon.

6. Everything Eyes: Professional Techniques, Essential Tools, Gorgeous Makeup Looks by Bobbi Brown

Everything Eyes by Bobbi Brown is completely at the other end of the scale to Pretty Honest. Whilst it is aimed at everyone, it is more for people who want to learn more about professional makeup application and it gives examples of how to create classic looks and the tools you need to achieve the looks. I already own Bobbi Brown’s Makeup Manual which is great for those starting out with makeup or those who are looking to perfect their application, but I like how this book is specific to eye makeup as my eyes are the feature I like to be most creative with. Everything Eyes by Bobbi Brown retails for £7.69 on Amazon.

What is on your Wish List? Are you currently on a spending ban, if so are you sticking to it or struggling like me? Let me know in the comments.

Review | My Little Box – Fleur De Force

I was so excited when I found out that Fleur from Fleur De Force had teamed up with My Little Box to create their December box. I have loved all of the boxes I have received so far so I knew I would like this one, but that fact that one of my favourite bloggers was involved in creating this box confirmed that I would love it.

Firstly, how beautiful does Fleur look on the cover of My Little World. Secondly, look at all of the amazing goodies that came in this box. I will start with the beauty products. First up is the Cowshed Invigorating Body Lotion which contains ginger, rosemary and lemongrass essential oils. I have never tried a product from Cowshed before so I am eager to give this a try. Also I love the smell of ginger and when I opened the body lotion that was the main scent I could smell. Next is the L’Occitane Precious Cream which claims to reduce the appearance of  lines and wrinkles and it has anti-aging properties. I haven’t had much luck with L’Occitane face products in the past, they have broken me out, but I am going to give it a go and see if it works for me – not that I need anti-agin products just yet. The final beauty product is from the My Little Box’s own brand My Little Beauty. It is a lipstick in a pinky red shade, it doesn’t have a shade number or name unfortunatelyWhen I swatched this on the back of my hand it reminded me so much of my YSL Rouge Volupté Sheer Candy in Luscious Cherry. I quickly grabbed the YSL out of my draw and swatched it next to the My Little Box lipstick and they are remarkably similar, Luscious Cherry is more red and the My Little Box is more pink.

Now onto the other goodies that came in this box. Fleur posts DIY videos on her YouTube channel so I did wonder if there would be any crafty type items in the box, and I was pleased when I saw there was. The first is a little envelope containing stickers in different shapes that you could used to customise presents or anything you like really. The second is a bobbin with black and white stripy yarn, this would be great for tying around Christmas presents or to use with the next item which are gift tags that come in a variety of designs.

The final product in the box was in the box marked ‘Present for You’. When I opened it I thought it was some gloves, but when I unfolded the time I saw it was a grey knitted headband. I love wearing these during the colder months as they keep your ears warm without making your head too warm or giving you hat hair. I think the grey will go well with my red hair and the wool also has little gold sparkles in so it looks quite festive.

Overall I am really pleased with this box and I think it is great value for money. I think Fleur and the team at My Little Box did a great job and I hope there will be another collaboration in the future.

My Little Box costs £14.95 a month and is available here.
