Review | My Little Box – Fleur De Force

I was so excited when I found out that Fleur from Fleur De Force had teamed up with My Little Box to create their December box. I have loved all of the boxes I have received so far so I knew I would like this one, but that fact that one of my favourite bloggers was involved in creating this box confirmed that I would love it.

Firstly, how beautiful does Fleur look on the cover of My Little World. Secondly, look at all of the amazing goodies that came in this box. I will start with the beauty products. First up is the Cowshed Invigorating Body Lotion which contains ginger, rosemary and lemongrass essential oils. I have never tried a product from Cowshed before so I am eager to give this a try. Also I love the smell of ginger and when I opened the body lotion that was the main scent I could smell. Next is the L’Occitane Precious Cream which claims to reduce the appearance of  lines and wrinkles and it has anti-aging properties. I haven’t had much luck with L’Occitane face products in the past, they have broken me out, but I am going to give it a go and see if it works for me – not that I need anti-agin products just yet. The final beauty product is from the My Little Box’s own brand My Little Beauty. It is a lipstick in a pinky red shade, it doesn’t have a shade number or name unfortunatelyWhen I swatched this on the back of my hand it reminded me so much of my YSL Rouge Volupté Sheer Candy in Luscious Cherry. I quickly grabbed the YSL out of my draw and swatched it next to the My Little Box lipstick and they are remarkably similar, Luscious Cherry is more red and the My Little Box is more pink.

Now onto the other goodies that came in this box. Fleur posts DIY videos on her YouTube channel so I did wonder if there would be any crafty type items in the box, and I was pleased when I saw there was. The first is a little envelope containing stickers in different shapes that you could used to customise presents or anything you like really. The second is a bobbin with black and white stripy yarn, this would be great for tying around Christmas presents or to use with the next item which are gift tags that come in a variety of designs.

The final product in the box was in the box marked ‘Present for You’. When I opened it I thought it was some gloves, but when I unfolded the time I saw it was a grey knitted headband. I love wearing these during the colder months as they keep your ears warm without making your head too warm or giving you hat hair. I think the grey will go well with my red hair and the wool also has little gold sparkles in so it looks quite festive.

Overall I am really pleased with this box and I think it is great value for money. I think Fleur and the team at My Little Box did a great job and I hope there will be another collaboration in the future.

My Little Box costs £14.95 a month and is available here.

Review | My Little Box – My Little Cosy Box

My third My Little Box arrived yesterday and I was so excited to see what was in this months box. When I saw that this box was called My Little Cosy box I just knew I was going to love what was inside – I just had a feeling – and I was right.

I have to admit when I saw the little box which says “all you need is coffee” I was a little disappointed as I don’t drink coffee and I thought it contained flavoured coffee or something. Then I opened it up and found this cute little espresso cup. I won’t use it for espresso but I think it will look really cute sat on my desk or dressing table.

Next up I saw the wheat bag, and I was really excited. I suffer from a lot of muscle and joint pain so I knew this would be great for soothing those pains. It is the perfect size for targeting small areas – and the perfect size to pop in my bag for work too. The other wheat bags I own are quite big and can be quite heavy so I am glad I now have a mini one. It would also be great as a hand warmer when the weather is really cold!

Inside the pouch was a mascara, eyeshadow and an eyeliner. First up is the My Little Beauty Mascara Soin Et Volume (volume and care mascara). I like the packaging of this product, it’s quite chunky and has a simple black and white circle design on half the tube. It has a fibre type brush that is the same size all the way along and is kind of medium in thickness. This is my favourite kind of brush, I have a small eye area so I tend to make a mess if I use a large brush and I get impatient with small brushes. I will report back on the formula once I have tried it out.

The single eyeshadow I received is the Yves Rocher Intense Colour Single Eyeshadow in 112 Brun Cafe Mat. It is a cool toned dark matte brown with a lovely smooth buttery finish. I’ve not used any products from Yves Rocher before but I am looking forward to trying this, I think it would be great as a subtle liner or to deepen the outer corner.

The final product I received is the Arcancil Starliner Waterproof Eyeliner in 001 Noir. I have used this today to tightline and it has not transferred to my waterline at all – which is a miracle for me. It has great pigmentation and glides on smoothly.

I think the combination of the three makeup products I received would create a lovely simple smokey eye – I think I might try this tomorrow.

Overall I am really pleased with this box. I think it is great value for money, the mascara alone costs more than the box! I am definitely going to keep my subscription running and I am looking forward to my next box. I hope it is Christmas/Winter themed!

Review | My Little Box – Diane von Fürstenberg Edition

DSC_0095 I was very excited to receive my second My Little Box in the post. I was so impressed with the first one I could not wait to see what in the second one. When it arrived and I opened the package it came in, I have to admit I was left wondering who Diane vin Fürstenberg was – I am a bit clueless when it comes to fashion and designers. However, after a bit of googling, I was even more excited to see what was inside the box.

On top was the My Little World magazine. I have not had a chance to read through this yet but it will be my magazine of choice when I have a bath this evening. Next up was the card which reads “Be the woman you want to be” which I found very inspirational therefore I have pinned it on my notice board to remind me the next time I feel like people are trying to change who I am that it is important to be who I want to be.

Underneath the magazine and card was a squidgy cardboard parcel. When I opened it up there was a super soft and silky scarf. This is probably my favourite item in the box. There were also some suggestions for how to use the scarf, such as a bag decoration and a head band. I like that it is black and white so it could go with a lot of outfits and I also like the abstract pattern.

Lastly there was a little pouch containing three beauty products. The first is the My Little Beauty Eau Micellaire. I am nearly out of my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, so this product came at the right time. I only use a micellar water very occasionally, usually when I want to freshen up my face on a day I am not wearing makeup. My favourite so far has been the Bioderma one, so I am hoping this one is just as good.

The second beauty product is the Kérastase K Laque Noire Hairspray. I have never tried a product from this brand, but I have heard good things from other beauty bloggers about their products so it will be interesting to see how this product fairs against my favourite hairspray from L’Oreal Elnett. The hairspray claims to have extra strong hold and an anti-humidity super shield – sounds fancy! My hair does not react to changes in humidity but I do get a lot of fly aways. Whilst I was writing this post I realised that Kérastase brand is part of the L’Oreal group so fingers crossed this hairspray will be good.

The final beauty product in this box was a mini sample of the L’Occitane Vanilla Bouquet Hand Cream. I love L’Occitane hand creams as they are not greasy but do a great job at moisturising my hands, and I also love vanilla scented products so this was a perfect product for me! This hand cream is the perfect size for popping in your bag or for taking on a flight as it is really mini (10ml), I think I will be saving mine for the next time I go on holiday. It contains 20% shea butter so is super moisturising and the vanilla makes it smell delicious.

Overall I am really happy with this box and I cannot wait for next months to arrive. I have a feeling this is becoming my favourite beauty subscription box. I just love the variety of products you receive and they all feel really thought out.

My Little Box costs £14.95 a month and is available here.

First Impression | My Little Box

I have been subscribed to various beauty boxes over the past couple of years and I always get excited when a new one comes on to the market. I heard about My Little Box on Fleur De Force’s blog (you can read her post here). I thought it looked different from other boxes as it not only includes beauty items, it also includes fashion, stationary and lifestyle items. So I decided to sign up.

My first box arrived today. It is the My Little Parisienne Box.

The first thing I noticed was how simple but pretty the box is. It is about the same size as a Glossybox and is nice a sturdy to protect the items inside. When you first open the box, all of the items are kept together with a white ribbon with ‘My Little Box’ printed over it. On the top is a little card that reads ‘Why Paris? Paris needs no reason. Paris is its own reason.” – very true.

Then there are some little Paris themed stickers that they suggest you can stick on your fridge, computer, phone, notebook or window. I am not sure what I am going to do with these but I am sure I will find some use for them.

The first item I received in the box is a notebook. At the front of the notebook there are a few pages explaining the story of My Little Box. The rest of the pages in the notebook are plain so I think I might use this to plan blog post and YouTube videos. It will look cute sat on my desk.DSC_0158

The second item is a laptop sleeve. It is the perfect size for my 13″ MacBook Pro. I am really glad I received this because I have a laptop bag, but not something I can use to protect my laptop if I want to carry it in a different bag.DSC_0150

Now on to the beauty samples. They all came in a cotton drawstring pouch with ‘My Little Box’ and bows printed on it. The first is the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. I have previously received a sample of the radiance primer and enjoyed using it so I am intrigued to see if the original formula is as good. DSC_0153

The second beauty sample is the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. This is a dry multipurpose oil that can be used on hair, body or face. I already have a sample of this but I have not tried it yet. I have heard good things about this oil so I will make it my mission this month to try it.

The third and final beauty item is a product from the My Little Beauty range. It is the Stylo Lumiére, a highlighting pen similar to the YSL Touche Éclat. I am excited to try this as the YSL pen has gone up in price and I am not sure if I can justify the price anymore, unless I can get it discounted somewhere. Maybe I will do a comparison of the two products.

The My Little Box is £11 (plus £3.95) a month and overall I feel this is definitely worth the money and I will continue with my subscription. You can find out more about the box and sign up here.

Have you received any boxes from My Little Box? If so, I would love to hear what you received in the comments below.
